Clean Water

What would you do for a cup of cold, clean water?

If you're me...then...I would walk to my stainless steel fridge and pour myself an ice cold cup of pure, clean agua into my favorite glass with the little coffee-colored Gazebos on it.  Or jump in my SUV and rush to the store to buy a 24-pack of Dasani's. Or at my job, I could jaunt to the water dispenser and unthinkingly choose, "cold, hot, or room" temperature.  Not much work at all for one cup of cold water.

If I were a child in Haiti...then I might see things very differently.  I would probably bathe, drink, clean my house, and wash my clothes in the same contaminated, diseased water. Hours or days later, I might begin to experience stomach pains or nausea due to cholera or other bacteria from the unclean water. If I were that child's mother I would probably walk for hours to find clean water from one of the newly constructed wells, because of charities such as World Vision; then I would very carefully fill the pail to be carried on my head for miles along the dusty, rocky road, until I reached my home.

With just one flush of a toilet, we could provide enough water to help a Haitian child for an entire day.  For only $60 we could install 1 more well that might save 10 children...5 children...or just one child.

Would you be willing to be the answer today?

How can you make a difference?
